New Beginnings
January 4th, 2009 by judytalksA New Year begins, and 2008 is gone forever. Ringing in a new year gives us opportunity to start fresh, giving us time to set new goals and move forward. But it isn’t always that simple. Goals unmet, problems not solved, and disappointments and crises endured push us down when we want to ride the crest.
As a survivor of a number of losses through the years, I have discovered tolls for handling adversity and loss. It begins with myself. Looking inward at my own core of beliefs and values gives me the measuring stick to guide me toward better choices, and the resources that enab le me to be true to myself. Outside sources are helpful, but the key to living your authentic self starts from within.
I returned from Holiday vacation with a nasty virus and low resources. Too much stress, fatigue, and commotion. Now I’m dealing with illness instead of starting off the New Year with bounce and energy. Will I ever learn?
The New Year offers us many choices. Making those choices and determining to stick to them is the beginning of health and wellbeing. The mind/body/spirit that makes each of us unique requires truth. This is my goal for 2009. To live truthfully, to trust my inner voice, and to give abundantly to those around.
To a bountiful New Year!
