On the Road Again
September 6th, 2009 by judytalksOur day of departure for our trip to Mn is just around the corner. Tues. AM we head north. I’ve been making piles of catagorized items all over the house: clothes, business papers, kitchen items, cat supplies, computer stuff, and information for printing and publicizing my book, A Child’s Grief Surviving the Death of a Parent.
We sent a temporary mail forwarding card to the post office, double checking the date we wanted that to happen. Instead, they began withholding the mail immediately and the proofed copy of the book was temporarily missing. Panic! Two trips to the post office and five phone calls got the ball rolling and saved the day.
Our trip back should be easy and uneventful. Major highways all the way and three drivers, AAA triptik and maps galore. I’m hoping the cat snoozes through most of it.
Visiting family is at the top of my list when we arrive. The parks, lakes and playgrounds offer hundreds of things to do with kids, plus museums, science and nature centers, and just hanging out at home. I bought a new pair of walking shoes so I can keep up with 4 growing boys.
Maybe, if we’re lucky, we’ll see some fall colors before we head back. I’ve missed that since I moved to AZ. Right now, our dry heat is very sticky.
Watch for my announcement about my new book, A Child’s Grief Surviving the Death of a Parent. I plan to talk a lot about it while I connect in the Twin Cities. Helping children grow and learn is one of my passions in life, and comforting them through the healing process when they are grieving is most important.
Happy back to school, everyone. Learn something new. It’s good for mind and soul.
